Food Tourism: Flavours of India

Indian cuisine comprises a mind boggling array of regional cuisines which date back thousands of years. The dishes of India are characterised by the extensive use of various Indian spices, herbs, vegetables and fruit. Each type of Indian cuisine includes a wide assortment of dishes and cooking techniques. Indian cuisine also varies from region to region, reflecting the varied demographics of the culturally-diverse subcontinent.

The plan

To organize guided tours (long term, weekend getaways, seasonal getaways, corporate offsite, school trips) which aim to allow epicures to explore the culinary diversity of the country while getting immersed in the rich flora and fauna of the Indian countryside. The whole plan stems from the basic thought our holiday plans seem to be too centred on the architectural marvels and sights, food always seems to be an afterthought or filler.
The hectic life of the urban traveller has ensured that he has not had any exposure to the gastronomic delights offered by the diverse Indian cultures. We consider this to be an unmet need that offers a tremendous business potential.
