Understanding and Evaluating organizations for incubating innovations for entrepreneurs; CIIE: A case in point. Do they incubate entrepreneurs alone or innovators as well?

We aim to understand how successful organizations for innovations (CIIE and others) are in achieving their vision. Why / Why not? What could be the areas of improvement? This will help us understand whether they actually help reducing the costs involved between innovator, entrepreneur and investor.

We would like to discuss with you which other organization in India and abroad can we study to benchmark.
Shortlisted incubators
1.       CIIE
2.       IIT B incubator
3.       IIT D incubator – FIIT
4.       ICRISAT
5.       NSTEDB
Another aspect we are looking at is that whether these incubators at IIT and IIM are promoting/incubating ideas only from these institutes or from outside too. And what is the nature of ideas coming in and what is the nature of ideas being selected for incubation.
An insight into the portfolio of startups at these institutes would help us understand if there are some hotbeds of innovation – certain areas being preferred over others. If yes, then why? Glamorous or commercially more viable? Or market oriented?

in fact there are hardly any ideas from with in the institute at iims but at iits, there may be many,
