Project Title: Vision of a sustainable middle class household in India

Our project is about ways to create sustainable households in India. Our focus is on the middle class households as data shows they make the largest segment of household in India and the number is rapidly growing. We would like to concentrate on assessing technologies that can meet the needs of these household. This need gap analysis would help us coming up with traditional as well as new technologies in making the houses more energy efficient, waste

Questions:

-          Does anyone know about the traditional as well as new technologies that has been implemented or can be implemented to make the Indian households sustainable?

-          Any input on the characteristic of middle class family? This would be a great help as both of us are exchange students and your views on the middleclass lifestyle would be valuable.

-          What can be the best way to create awareness amongst the general mass about sustainable households?
