Commercializing Existing Innovations

For our project we plan to focus on upcoming trends (for eg growing focus on environmental consciousness) which can lead to disruptive innovations in various sectors. Then we intend to look at repository of innovations to map the innovations which are existing presently can can be commercially viable in future.

As we discussed in class, there are some innovations which occur before appropriate time have arrived for them. We try to look for some of these innovations which currently exist in public space but have not yet been commercialized, and now with changing global trends stand a good chance to be put into a product. Screening among these we will focus on a few innovations which we feel are most suitable considering the current trends.

We currently are focusing on environment friendly innovations, and will like to have opinions and views of other members whereby they can contribute with any innovation/invention they have come across which they think can be sell-able now at a proper scale.

Opinions, views and any contributions to the idea will be greatly helpful!

  1. Hello guys,

I don't know if you thought of this, but there are two distinct approaches to your problem to my mind:

    - On the one hand, considering innovation which came too early "in absolute", whatever the market may be

    - On the other hand, considering innovation which already exists in some markets (e.g. 3G, hybrid cars...) but for which markets like India are not yet ready, for some reason.

Hope it helps to some extend. Good luck!
